How to care for her dress

A Maison D'vine dress is made to last. Not to be worn once and forgotten. Not to be discarded when the trend changes. It is a chapter of your life, made in fabric. Treat it accordingly.

General care

Hand wash or gentle machine cycle only. Cold water, inside out, in a mesh laundry bag. The fabric of each chapter dress is chosen for its quality and feel — not for its tolerance of heat and agitation. A harsh wash will shorten the life of both the fabric and the heartbeat line inside.

Do not tumble dry. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Sunlight fades colour and weakens fabric over time. Dry in shade.

Iron on low heat. If the dress requires pressing, use a low heat setting on the wrong side of the fabric. Place a thin cloth between the iron and the dress. Never iron directly over the heartbeat line — the stitching is delicate and heat can damage it.

Store hanging, not folded. The silhouette of each dress is designed to move and drape. Folding compresses the fabric and creates permanent creases over time. Hang the dress in a breathable cotton garment bag away from direct light.

The heartbeat line

The heartbeat line — stitched close to where your heart sits on the inside of the dress — is a delicate piece of hand stitching. To protect it: do not iron directly over the line, wash inside out, and avoid wringing the dress. The line is designed to last the life of the dress if treated with the same care the dress itself receives.

Specific care by chapter fabric

Specific care instructions for each chapter's fabric are printed on the care label inside your dress. The care label is placed at the back neckline seam — separate from the heartbeat line. Please follow the label instructions as the primary guide. The general care above applies where the label does not specify otherwise.

If something goes wrong

A loose thread, a minor stitch issue, a small repair — contact us. We will advise on the best way to address it. For significant repairs, we will connect you with the original maker where possible. A dress that was made for you deserves to be repaired for you, not discarded because of something small.
